(SP) – The Golden State Warriors have announced that the lucky ticket holder in Section 111, Row C, Seat 13 will be allowed to coach the team in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
“It was great to have Steve [Kerr] back for Game 2, but we’ve both seen the first two games of this series … I don’t think we really need a professional coach,” said Warriors general manager Bob Myers. “This is just a fun way to get our fans involved more with the team.”
The Warriors announced the winner late in their Game 2 victory and will fly the winning fan with the team to Cleveland for Game 3.
“This is so cool,” said Mary Taylor, who won the head coach position giveaway. “I just started watching basketball two years ago when the Warriors got good, but I love them and I never imagined I would get an opportunity like this. I guess I’ll just put Steph, Kevin, Klay and Draymond on the court and then sit there while they do their thing.”
Kerr said he is happy to give Mary some tips on how to coach the team if she should want them.
“I basically just put Steph, Kevin, Klay and Draymond on the court and then sit there while they do their thing.”
