(SP) – Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price has informed his team’s front office that he would like to be traded, citing the fact that he has come to realize that he is a very selfish player who is incapable of winning.

“I was watching the Predators-Ducks game last night, and as Nashville was being presented with the conference trophy, I realized that I am a locker room cancer who should probably be traded,” said Price. “To Nashville, preferably.”

Price says he has spoken to former Montreal teammate P.K. Subban about reuniting in Nashville.

“I’m sure management here would agree that simply having P.K.’s number in my phone is a sign that I’m a bad seed,” said Price. “I shouldn’t be fraternizing with the likes of him. But, alas, I have been and I feel I should be punished immediately by getting shipped out of town. Again, preferably to Nashville.”

Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin says he will entertain Price’s trade request.

“If he wants to win that way, the way they’re winning down in Nashville, then I’m happy to let him go,” said Bergevin. “We play and lose the right way here.”
