(SP) – Andrew Luck will reportedly undergo season-ending surgery on his healthy throwing shoulder, thereby ensuring he does not have to suit up for the god awful Indianapolis Colts this season.

“My shoulder felt pretty good and I have been throwing,” said Luck, who underwent shoulder surgery in January. “But I decided it’s for the best if I have someone cut me open again and just kind of poke around in there so there’s no possible way I can play for this shit-tastic team this year.”

Luck said he was planning to return to the Colts soon, and said he could have played Week 1 if it was a playoff game, but after watching the Colts play in their opener, decided it would be best for his overall health if he had a surgeon open up some shoulder and “stir stuff around.”

“Ideally, I wouldn’t have my shoulder opened back up,” said Luck. “But considering the team I’d be playing for, I’ll take another shoulder procedure over the possibility of getting paralyzed or broken in half. Or, at the very least, being completely humiliated for all-time by going 0-16.”

The quarterback said he will determine future surgeries based off of roster improvements the Colts make before the 2018 season.

“Unfortunately, I signed last year to play here through the 2021 season,” said Luck. “But if they don’t trade me, I’m sure I can get a lot of surgeries in four years.”
