(SP) – The draft prospects of former Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was further muddied today when several NFL scouts said the dynamic player is best suited to play the sport of bobsled.
“He’s a 5-foot-9 guy with a low base and I don’t think that projects well to quarterback in the NFL,” said Mike Mayock. “But he really could make a hell of a bobsled pusher guy. I’ve been watching the Olympics and Lamar Jackson is definitely bobsled material.”
Told Jackson is not 5-foot-9 and stocky, but 6-foot-3, Mayock said: “The film doesn’t lie,” and then moved on to talking about other players.
While several other scouts have now also projected Jackson to bobsled, others have said his best position is punter, one scout said his NFL career projects to kicking tee, and still another claimed Jackson is better suited not as a human but as a cartoon bird that could be used for the logo of a cereal brand.
“I really hate the draft process,” said Jackson.
