(SP) – Free agent running back Adrian Peterson continues to insist he has many suitors for his services in 2017 and beyond and today sought to close the deal on his next contract by e-mailing a video to all 32 NFL general managers.
“In Adrian Peterson, you get not just one of the greatest running backs of all-time, you also get … and you’re going to love this … a player who can catch passes, too!” Peterson says in the video, as canned gasps followed by applause erupt in the background. “But, wait, that’s not all. If you call in the next 10 minutes, you can get Adrian Peterson with just three easy installments of the league minimum! What are you waiting for? This deal surely won’t last long. Call his agent today!”
After first sending the e-mail at 1:00 a.m. ET time last night, Peterson has blasted it out four more times so far today, each time claiming the veteran minimum deal is only available in “the next 10 minutes.” As of this writing, no team has reportedly made an offer to the 32-year old back who has missed nearly all of two of the last three seasons to injury.
The running back’s agent, Ben Dogra, says he firmly believes Adrian Peterson will be signed momentarily — “Supplies are limited!” he says — but may send out a new video tomorrow and provided a sneak preview.
“In Adrian Peterson, you get one of the greatest running back of all-time and — get this — if you call in the next 5 minutes,” goes the video, “we’ll also throw in NFL coaching genius Chip Kelly! That’s two highly sought after football legends for the price of one! Call now!”
