(SP) – According to a new study, sports fans will have to endure just more than 1,500 more games in the NBA career of rookie Lonzo Ball, and therefore also in the reflected relevance of his father, Lavar.

“I know it seems tiresome and hard to escape sometimes,” said Lakers head coach Luke Walton, citing the study. “And we’re only two weeks into his NBA career. But if career projections are accurate, we only have … what, 15 seasons give or take some playoff runs left? Oh, god.”

While Ball has only played four regular season games so far, his father has already had a very visible presence before and after each game, speaking at length to the media and getting into feuds with other players. Based on Ball’s age, size, draft slot and position, it is projected that he will play until at least the 2030 season.

“I love basketball and I expect to have a long and productive career,” said Ball. “I hope you don’t take that as a threat. I’m sorry that I can’t control my dad. I’m really not a bad guy.”

But Lavar Ball says we won’t get rid of him until well after 2030.

“I have two other sons, countless networks for reality shows, and hundreds of ugly shoe design ideas,” he said. “You’re stuck with me forever.”
