Above all one of the most popular props with the NFL Draft betting odds is team vs. team matchups.  What this entails is in a matchup between two teams, which of those teams will have the most players taken.  And in our case here players taken in the first round. Consistent with that is the college programs that are listed on the board. You would think it was a college football playoff round.  Or a weekend of SEC games. To illustrate it will come as no surprise that the most powerful programs in college football dominate the matchups.

2020 NFL Draft Teams with the Most First Round Picks

Date and Time:  Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25

2020 NFL Draft TV Coverage:  NFL Network, ESPN, ABC

LSU +.5 -170 vs. Alabama -.5 +130

Account of their top shelf prospects do LSU and Alabama take their SEC West rivalry from the field and into 2020 NFL Draft war rooms.  Consequently, it’s the best and most powerful draft matchup on the board. Additionally, both schools will bring staying power from the top to bottom in the first round.

First to be taken is almost certain to be quarterback Joe Burrow of LSU.  LSU EDGE rusher K’Lavon Chalsson is ranked 15th or better in most prospect lists.  And Bayou Bengal CB Kristian Fulton is ranked in the low 20’s, which would be in first round range.  WR Justin Jefferson, LB Patrick Queen, and S Grant Delpit rank within the top 32 which make the top round candidates.  Chalsson is the second-best EDGE rusher in the draft.

Of course, Alabama is loaded with first round selections.  Their perennial status of providing top picks makes them a consistent sports betting favorite.  QB Tua Tagovailoa is an obvious top five choice.  OL Jedrick Wills Jr is likely going in the top ten.  WR Jerry Jeudy is another Crimson Tide player quite likely to go in the first round.  Another Bama WR, Henry Ruggs III, is ranked in the top 15 or better of all prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.  S Xavier McKinney rounds out the Tide’s first round candidates.

Clemson +.5 -200 vs. Oklahoma -.5, +150

Namely Clemson’s LB Isaiah Simmons could be the most valuable and useful player in the entire 2020 NFL Draft according to the odds.  He is a strong candidate tom be a top three selection.  CB AJ Terrell is another Tiger that could well go in the first round.  While WR Tee Higgins in right on the brink of going late in the first or early in the second.

To begin with Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb may be the best at his position in the draft.  Lamb is a likely top ten selection. LB Kenneth Murray stands apart as one of the few reliable Oklahoma players on the defensive side of the line.

Auburn +.5 -240 vs. Georgia -.5, +165

Subsequently the Tigers and Bulldogs make for a power SEC matchup.  DL Derrick Brown has teams screaming “War Eagle” as a player ranked in the top ten and as high as fifth by some scouts.  Brown is ranked at the top defensive lineman of the draft. In like manner OL Andrew Thomas of Georgia makes them a strong potential value with the NFL Draft Betting Odds.  The big question is if specific team needs will force one of these two programs to have another player slip through late in the first round.

Clemson +.5, -160 vs. Ohio State -.5, +120

Fashion that Ohio State EDGE rusher Chase Young is the highest rated player in the entire 2020 NFL Draft.  Also ranking as a top five prospect is Buckeye CB Jeff Okudah. Young is the dominant pass rusher that most NFL teams can only dream of.  While Okudah is the epitome of a shutdown corner. Correlate how Tee Higgins status is what could decide this matchup. If so, that would tip the scales to Clemson.  But its also not likely that prevails.
